The Revolution

As you all can see from my "Currently on the Nightstand" list at the right, I'm currently reading Ron Paul's latest book, The Revolution. It is a must read for any person disenfranchised with the current state of our government. And for those that aren't necessarily sure that they're disenfranchised, read this and you will be.

How long have we seen candidates with slogans touting "change." Ron Paul proposes the most radical change of all, Freedom. Freedom in the form that our founding fathers intended upon drafting the Constitution. He raises poignant questions about changes in the last 50 years. He points out specific legislation that violates the letter and the intent of our founding document and suggests ways to remedy the abuses. Some of his ideas sound radical to those of us raised in an era that knows no better; that think it's right and proper to have an omnipotent central government; who think it's par for the course to give up 25% of your salary.

Ron Paul will not get the Republican nomination. If he decides to continue running as the Constitution Party candidate, he will not win the Presidential election. But, there is a reason that his campaign has set numerous fundraising records and his latest book is a New York Times bestseller. His message rings true with a growing segment of Americans; those that want the liberty that is promised by our founders. Republicans and Democrats should be concerned about the direction that our country has taken and how far we've strayed from the "Land of the Free."

I'll gladly lend this book to any that are interested. Heck, I'll buy you a copy.
