Give me Liberty or Give me.... Republicans and Democrats

Now for real change....

If you've digested the messages from Obama and McCain, you will note that they are very similar on many fronts. Although they disagree on some major topics (healthcare, abortion, foreign policy) they have one major theme in common. More Federal Government control is the way to fix all that ails this country. I disagree. Liberty: personal freedom, a free market economy, freedom of religion... these are the ideals on which this country was founded. What if we actually put these ideas into practice in ALL areas of our society?

The Republican party used to stand for limited government; that is no longer the case. But there are those who do not think that the Federal Government has the obligation to regulate day to day life. Furthermore, the Federal Government does not have the RIGHT to force American citizens to be the instrument of a socialistic agenda. They do not have the right to take half of my paycheck any more then they have the right to force me to serve in the armed forces. When that is the case, I as an individual exist for the benefit of the State, instead of the State existing to preserve those individual freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
